A thin layer of sand

At the end of a year it is good to reflect, good to take a shovel and shovel some of the dead leaves away, as the famous french song goes.

What do we do with the dead leaves, pain and hurt of this year (there does seem to be more than the usual amount)?

Does time heal all wounds? Not in my experience. Time may place a thin layer of sand over a past hurt, but it is easily blown away by the slightest breeze.

Healing takes work, the work of cleaning the wound, the work of forgiving and letting go.

This December, take some time to not ignore but to acknowledge and do the work.
