Ruin reveals
Tough times reveal character.
I picked up this quote from one of my favourite architects, minimalist Tadao Ando
"I like ruins because what remains is not the total design, but the clarity of thought, the naked structure, the spirit of the thing."
Ruins are stripped down by time, revealing only the bare bones, the 'spirit of the thing'.
In times like these, when people are under pressure their spirit, character, is revealed. It is getting to look behind the curtain, you might find talent and leadership where you just never looked before, and you will also be surprised which shiny containers are just hollow Easter eggs.
Get skin in the game, look for the spirit of the thing.
