What are you supposed to be focusing on this week?

Goal setting is all the rage, daily, weekly, yearly goals.

I used to set goals, very specific, quantifiable goals like,

How many talks I want to do in a year.
How many people I want to reach
How much I want my body fat percentage to be.

What I discovered is that even when I reached these goals I wasn't much happier or more content than before. They were empty.

My goals now are less about numbers and more about vocation.

The same goals now are to

Teach,
Help,
be strong,

And guess what? I'm much happier, and the numbers follow.

Perhaps it's more about what you are called to do than how much you want to do. Careers are about numbers and timelines, vocations are more about talent and passion.

Get skin in the game, shift the focus.
