There is a saying in Afrikaans, 'Moenie die ding ryp druk nie.'

Roughly translated it means something like, don't keep on pressing the thing (like you would press on a fruit) to ripen it.

In other words, don't try to rush the process. 

Rushing ruins.

It'll get ripe on its own, just be patient.

Get skin in the game, quit rushing.
