TLDR Bio:
Pierre is the founder of Be Brave, a Strategy Design Lab that helps businesses and people find clarity in the chaos. With over two decades of experience developing people, building products, and designing strategies, Pierre blends ancient wisdom, systems thinking, and gut feels to create brave roadmaps for the future.
He’s spoken on four TEDx stages, written four books, won the Desmond Tutu Gerrit Brand prize for literature, worked with global brands like Tencent, BP, Yum!, Allan Gray, and HATCH, and delivered keynotes all around the world, that feel more like conversations around a campfire than boardroom lectures.
Part strategist, part modern-day augur, Pierre holds a Master’s in Systematic Theology and is fascinated by what it means to be human in an age of machines.
He lives in Cape Town with his wife, and two kids and when he is not reading or lifting weights, enjoys doom-scrolling.
This is pierre
Pierre helps businesses and people find their way through chaos.
He’s a strategist, global speaker, and author with more than two decades of experience guiding people and businesses. As the founder of Be Brave, a Strategy Design Lab based in Cape Town, South Africa, Pierre partners with organisations, from multinational giants to ambitious scale-ups, to co-create brave, differentiating strategies.
As a systematic theologian, a modern-day augur, Pierre draws from a field that melds together ethics, psychology, philosophy and systems thinking to build coherent frameworks for understanding the world and our place in it. His Masters research focused on loneliness and belonging, giving him a deeply human lens on business, leadership, and the structures we build.
Pierre’s approach blends ancient wisdom, modern frameworks, trend analysis, and behavioral design, tied together with a storyteller’s flair and a strategist’s insight. His signature keynote, In Praise of Shadows, invites leaders to rethink chaos as a creative force and strategy as a brave act.
Over the years, Pierre has spoken on four TEDx stages, authored four books including Train Naked, and won the Desmond Tutu Gerrit Brand prize for literature. He has spoken at and worked with leading organisations around the world such as BMW, Yum!, Tencent, Allan Gray, FNB, EO, and KFC.
He lives in Cape Town with his wife and two kids. When he’s not reading obscure theology books or sketching frameworks on napkins, he enjoys lifting weights or doom scrolling.
“Pierre finds the hidden treasures, that insight you never imagined, in the most surprising places and from those unexpected stories. Pierre is a storyteller, whose stories I will listen to over and over again.”
