We live very open lives, in fact, our entire lives are plastered all over the internet. In the not too distant future anonymity will be the new celebrity, the most famous person the one without a name.

One of the worst torture techniques, apparently, is ‘white room torture’ where they place you in a white brightly lit room with white furniture, serve you only white food on white paper plates, and you wear only white clothing with no shoes, only soft white socks.

There is no nuance, no shadows, and no place to hide. It becomes difficult to discern what is inside and what is outside and sooner or later all the secrets starts spilling out.

You see, the soul needs it secrets. We need places to hide, places that are not known to anyone but ourselves. We need a cultivated interior garden.
