The way it made me feel

I’ve heard this quoted time and again and often as an excuse not to actually do anything of real value (“thoughts and prayers”).
I’ve also experienced the opposite. Something of real value delivered in an apathetic manner chucked into a box, and sent off.
But when value and emotion meet, it is a powerful experience for those you seek to serve. Today I ordered custom (and expensive) medicine. The emails were fast and filled with carefully selected words like, “tailor-made”, “personalized” and “for you.” It made me feel special, and, to be honest, trust the company. Even though it is seriously going to hurt my wallet.
This morning I also had to get our car’s window repaired. When I arrived, the mechanic (owner) left what he was working on, grabbed a couple of tools, and fixed it in 10 minutes while making small talk about how amazing our car is and didn’t charge me.
I’ll definitely be going back to both.
