enough hours in a day
Jim Collins, the author of Built to Last and Good to Great, carries a triple stopwatch in his pocket so he can measure what he spends his time on during his day.
For him, the most important action he can spend his time on is intellectual creative work, like writing for example. His aim is to spend at least 50% of his day on that type of work.
That is his ‘place of power’.
I’ve mentioned my artist friend Rina in previous posts, she talks about returning to your place of power, the place of flow, of effortless work. Trouble is, if you are anything like me, that place gets swallowed up and pushed to the sidelines and eventually off of the cliff.
What do you need to spend your time on to be able to do your best work?
Get skin in the game.
