fate & free will

I’ve been reading ‘A Hobbit, a Wardrobe, and a Great War’ by Joseph Loconte. The book tells of the friendship between J.R.R Tolkien and C.S. Lewis and the influence World War I had on both their works, The Lord of the Rings, and The Chronicles of Narnia.

In both the characters are reluctantly flung into war, the river of fate draws them in, but it within that they are called to be honourable, to good, and to be just.

We cannot always choose the situation we find ourselves in, but we can choose how we find ourselves there.

Get skin in the game, choose.
