Yesterday was rough, people close to us’ son passed away. He was just a few days old. The day before another friend’s child was stillborn, and yet another friend’s father was diagnosed with terminal cancer over the weekend.
There are more questions than answers when life hits you in the stomach. There is not always method in the madness, or meaning in the chaos. Life is often without sense, reason, and feels completely absurd.
The only reasonable thing to do in times like these, is to be with people in their suffering, and not offer answers. It’s probably the single greatest gift we can offer, to be present to someone.
Get skin in the game, be with.
