a new mo(u)rning

The road to healing from loss is through and not around mourning.

Westerners are not great at mourning. We almost never have to see the body, have a short dignified funeral, little to no rituals and then we have snacks and tea afterwards and go home.

Every time I see the covid numbers I think, 'multiply those deaths by 12, at least. That is the number of people on the planet that have experienced deep loss and trauma.'

We need to learn to mourn, we need to give our people, employees and friends time to mourn.

When covid is done, we will need to enter mourning before the new morning.
