about average
I have a bone to pick with average.
The average person is truly unhappy in their job.
The average full-time employee hates what they do every single day.
People who are exceptional at what they do might be happier at what they do because they get positions where they have autonomy and can play, have purpose, and the potential to grow. They might be incredible in-demand freelancers, gig workers, or entrepreneurs.
But what if you are indeed just average at what you do?
My first question to this is, why are you doing it?
Surely everyone is at least above average at something, possibly even remarkable? Why not do that? (At least as a hobby or side hustle).
But for the sake of the 'security' of full-time employment, we take average jobs that we're not particularly good at and create average work.
The uncomfortable truth is that being average at your job is not exactly helping your level of security, in fact quite the opposite.
