'If you can’t measure it you can't manage it' a classic business maxim that I have a love-hate relationship with.

I don't have a problem with measuring, counting the money, bums on seats, or feet through the door. I do have a problem with measuring things that aren't aligned with your vision, what really matters to you. Why do you measure how many people showed up or should you be measuring how many people experienced positive change? Given, the latter is more difficult to measure and that doesn't mean you should not be measuring the first, but just make sure you know what you are measuring, why you are doing it, and what it truly means.

Get skin in the game, measure wisely.
