Which hill?

Yesterday I had an exploratory conversation with an organisation that I might collaborate with. During the conversation, I realised that I do not agree with some of their values. There were some differences in opinions on equality and inclusivity (let's just leave it there).

The question then is, are these differences a deal-breaker? Is this the hill that I'm prepared to die on?*

My friend Joe remarked that some things are worth dying for and others are worth fighting for. It's important to know the difference since if you are prepared to die for everything you disagree with very soon you will find yourself, or at least your career, very much dead.

I'll never agree with everything, but neither will I die for everything.

*Just don't tell everyone which hill you are prepared to die on, they might just take you there and end you.
