The word sacrifice means sacri-holy, and fice-to make. Making sacrifices, bleeding makes something holy, sacred, special, a cut above, something unique and other. 

We all make sacrifices, we sacrifice immediate gratification for long term goals, we work late hours to create great companies that give people what they need, create jobs, feed families.
